ŠPILÁK Peter

Základné a stredoškolské vzdelanie získal Peter Špilák v Banskej Bystrici. Je absolventom Art Gymnázia na Mládežníckej ulici v Banskej Bystrici. V rokoch 1998 – 2002 študoval na Fakulte humanitných vied Univerzity Mateja Bela na Katedre hudobnej a estetickej výchovy. Po absolutóriu nastúpil na doktorandské štúdium, ktoré ukončil v roku 2006. Ešte počas štúdia na FHV začal študovať (1999) na Fakulte múzických umení Akadémie umení v Banskej Bystrici kompozíciu v triede prof. Ladislava Burlasa. V roku 2004 reprezentoval Akadémiu vo Florencii na medzinárodnom workshope (Young Musician in Florence), kde odznela premiéra jeho skladby La creatura bella che di sol vestita.
Už počas štúdia na Akadémii umení získal niekoľko ocenení, napríklad 3. miesto na skladateľskej súťaži v rámci medzinárodného festivalu Akademická Banská Bystrica 2003 za skladbu Dies irae pre miešaný zbor, v roku 2002 čestné uznanie na súťaži ORFEUS vyhlásenou VŠMU v Bratislave za skladbu Postscriptum pre osem nástrojov. Jeho skladby sa uvádzajú ako na domácich tak aj na zahraničných koncertných pódiách ( Poľsko, Španielsko, Petrohrad, Švajčiarsko...).
Jeho skladateľská tvorba obsahuje kompozície pre sólové nástroje, komorné zoskupenia, orchestrálne telesá a najväčšiu časť tvorby tvoria najmä kompozície pre zborové telesá. Pozornosť venuje aj detskej inštruktívnej tvorbe, ktorej potreby vyplynuli z jeho niekoľkoročného pôsobenia na Základnej umeleckej škole v Banskej Bystrici.
V súčasnom období pracuje na Katedre hudobnej kultúry Pedagogickej fakulty Univerzity Mateja Bela v Banskej Bystrici ako odborný asistent a zároveň na Katedre kompozície a dirigovania zboru Fakulty múzických umení v Banskej Bystrici.

It was during his studies at the Academy of Arts when Peter Špilák won several awards, includingthe thirdplacefor the songDies Iraefor mixed choir at the composition competitionof the internationalfestivalAcademicBanska Bystricain2003; honorable mentionfor the composition Postscriptumfor EightInstrumentsat the competitionORFEUSdeclared bythe Academy of Performing Artsin Bratislavain 2002. His compositions are played on domestic as well as foreign stages (Poland, Spain, St. Petersburg,Switzerland...).
Hiswork as a composerincludescompositions forsolo instruments, chambergroups,orchestralensemblesandthe largest partof his compositions consists mainlyofcompositions forchoralensembles.He is concerned with children's instructive work that resulted from the needs of his several years work at Primary Art School in Banska Bystrica.
At the present time Peter Špilák works as an assistant professor in the Department of Musical Culture at the Faculty of Education of Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica, as well as in the Department of Composition and Conducting at the Faculty of Music of the Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica.
